 Terms and Conditions

  1. Confidentiality
  2. All coaching sessions are confidential. The Mentor will not discuss the Client with anyone without the Client’s express permission.
  3. Roles and Responsibilities of Mentor and Client
    1. What is the Mentor responsible for?
      1. Respecting confidentiality
      2. Being available for the Client as needed
  • Keeping the meetings focused on the agreed outcomes.

  1. What is the Client responsible for?
    1. Making time and focus available for the work.
    2. Being on time for sessions or giving 24 hrs notice of any change.
  2. How do we deal with conflicts of interest (if any)
    1. Being upfront on any conflicts including any third-party conflicts
    2. Agreeing a way forward
  3. What is on and off limits?
    1. This will be agreed up front at the first session.
    2. It will be reviewed if either the Client or the Mentor feels that something that was agreed to be off-limits needs to be discussed.
  4. Frequency of meetings:
    1. To be agreed at first meeting and then every 6 months
    2. As a guide, the most effective frequency in Defy Expectation’s experience is:
      1. first long session, half a day to establish the basis and expected outcome of the mentoring.
      2. Future sessions monthly for one and a half hours to review progress.

  1. Depending on circumstances (national and personal) the intent is for the first long session to be face-to-face. Further meetings will generally be a mix of online and face-to-face depending on circumstances.
  2. The overall goals of the work will be agreed upon in the first session and then reviewed at each of the following meetings.
  3. Contact between meetings. The Client has access to the Mentor at any time during the working week by phone, e-mail or messaging. Both Client and Mentor undertake to respond to each other within 24 hours unless agreed otherwise.
  4. Progress will be reviewed at the end of each meeting using the GDE (what was Good, what was Difficult, what would be Even better) framework and a more formal review will take place at the end of each quarter.

 

Schedule of rates

  1. Mentoring: £1000.00 per month + VAT if applicable
  2. Engagement-related expenses: All reasonable expenses will be covered by the customer and will be charged at the end of the month in which they occur
  3. Payment is monthly in advance.
  4. The contractual period is for three months with a rolling monthly renewal after that if both parties agree. As a guide most effective mentoring relationships last from 12 to 18 months
