This month we've been speaking at the Channel Live event held at the NEC on 20th March 2025, where Helen Honisett and Chris Farnath co-hosted a breakout roundtable exploring the human impact of supply chain sustainability.

The session encouraged participants to move beyond environmental metrics and focus on the people affected by supply chain decisions—from frontline workers and suppliers to employees and local communities.

Delegates examined the shifting expectations of customers, who increasingly seek transparency and authenticity in sustainability claims. Participants shared examples of how they communicate social sustainability commitments and how trust can be eroded when messaging is perceived as superficial.

A recurring theme was the importance of aligning internal practices with external messaging—ensuring that what is promised to customers is supported by lived experience within the business and its supply chain.
