Why this programme exists
Resilience isn't about pushing through. It's about knowing where you are, and how to move.
Most leadership resilience advice stops at "bounce back."
This programme goes further, grounded in the science of nervous system regulation: how you actually respond to pressure, in real time, and how to build a sustainable capacity for recovery, clarity and adaptability under it.
Regulated
Calm, clear, and able to lead with steadiness. This is the state you want to spend most of your time in.
Sympathetic
Fight-or-flight reactivity under pressure. Useful in short bursts, costly when it becomes constant.
Collapse
Shutdown, freeze, or disengagement. Often invisible to others, and easy to miss in yourself.
The programme is built on Polyvagal Theory (Dr Stephen Porges) and teaches three simple, evidence-based techniques: slow exhalation breathing, calm vocal tone, and
micro-moments of genuine connection, all of which that shift you back towards regulation in the middle of a normal working day. No special equipment. No extra time in the diary.
Six weeks, three phases
Nothing about this asks you to overhaul your life. It asks you to notice, practise, and then build the habit in the pockets of time you already have.
WEEKS 1-2
Baseline: notice where you are
Short surveys and check-ins build a picture of your current stress patterns and resilience levels. No fixing yet; just honest observation of your own states.
WEEKS 3-5
Practice: micro-techniques in action
You'll deliberately practise the three regulation techniques and start attaching them to cues already in your day, so they become automatic rather than effortful.
WEEK 6
Consolidation: make it yours
You'll refine which cues genuinely worked, decide your non-negotiable minimum practice, and leave with a plan for ongoing resilience.

Who it's for
This programme is designed with your reality in mind: limited time, constant demands, and a need for tools that actually work in the middle of a working day — not just in theory.
It's a strong fit if you:
- Lead others through pressure, change, or complexity
- Notice your reactions under stress but haven't had a structured way to work with them
- Want practical, evidence-based tools rather than another wellbeing lecture
Can commit a few minutes a day, most days, for six weeks
What you'll walk away with
- A working knowledge of your own nervous system states, and how to shift between them
- Three simple techniques you can use in real work moments, with no special equipment
- Personal cues that reliably bring you back to regulation, built into habits you already have
- A sustainable practice that outlasts the six weeks, because it's designed to
As one leader on this work put it: regulating yourself as a leader shapes the culture, psychological safety, and decision-making quality of everyone around you, as well as supporting your own wellbeing.
